I would say just go ahead and make them to your specifications. Although they are pretty sturdy, they will shape to your feet(or your recipients) with wear. As far as length differences you can always do a search for foot sizes and measurements.

My only concern with this pattern is if we are making these as presents how do we know if they will fit certain people’s feet?

I have high arches and my friend whom I making them for is totally flat footed……any suggestions or does it not matter!

Hi Marie. Thanks Emma for sorting us out. I bought 12ply because I thought worsted meant 12ply. I have size 11 feet so maybe the 12ply will work for me if I stick with the same needles. I will defintely need to do a tension square if I am to have any chance of these slippers fitting my flippers.

Hi Ladies

to be honest, it won’t make a HUGE difference, and there is a bit of ‘grey’ area around what a 10 and 12ply are!

With felting, it won’t be an issue, the thing to look for is the tension, ie, 18 sts to 10cm. Even if its a bit chunkier (16sts to 10 cm) that will still work, and you can always go down 1/4-1/2 a needle size if you are worried.

Hello Am i going potty….??? THe pattern says 10 ply.. You say to use cascade 220.. which i s 12ply???? ummmmmmmmm HElp…
which is it . 10 ply or 12ply???? Thanksssssssssss… Me thinks i am going to have heaps big slipppers grin… Look forward to hearing from you..

Hi, count me in too. I am aiming for completion this Christmas. Bought my yarn from Bendigo Woollen Mills, Rustic 12ply I hope this was correct? I hope I haven’t created my first stumbling block.
Love the idea of felted flowers Donna, look forward to seeing your slippers.
